Between Professional Groomings

Have a routine "time" when you brush your dog. Put him up somewhere safe, but where he will not escape. Work the hair in sections, getting down to the undercoat. Brush out dead hair more frequently in the summer -- Did you know a dog's natural temperature is higher than humans?

Puppy Prep

Start getting a puppy used to grooming slowly. Stroke him gently with a soft bristle brush for a few minutes each day. Always follow this with affection and playtime
--Did you know human contact is their favorite reward ?

Bichon Frise, Shih Tzu, Pomeranians, Lhasa Apso, Maltese, and small terriers are among the many small breed dogs that business owner Rebecca specializes in, serving the communities of Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Kensington, and Potomac.

Trained as a small dog specialist, Rebecca knows it takes a gentle touch to keep her tiny clients calm and comfortable, and patience for their exuberant personalities. Read what our clients say.

Our Services...

Skin, brush, nails, bath...we start with the basics...First, your dog is examined for skin problems such as parasites, skin lesions, dryness, flaking. Then comes brushing and combing to remove undercoat and debris. Nails are "tip clipped" to avoid cutting and painful bleeding. Bathing includes a medicated oatmeal, or tar & sulfur bath and conditioning as needed. Dogs are fluff-dried by hand. No dog is ever left alone during the drying process. Ears are treated with an antibacterial ear cleaner, and dead and lose hair is removed to avoid infections. Your pet is then clipped and scissored according to breed standard. Finally your pampered pet receives a scarf or bows and "designer doggy fragrance."

What is In-Home Grooming? It means grooming is done in Rebecca's home-based salon, specially set up to allow for the comfort and care of her small clients. The atmosphere is peaceful, and free of the noise, flying hair, and chaos sometimes found in a dog salons. Rebecca is bonded and insured, even for animal transportation.

Appointment Policy

Dogs must be up-to-date with their vaccinations, and must be on a flea preventative program. We ask that you call for an appointment. Sometimes we get busy and need a week or so lead time. In general, expect to leave your dog for two hours. In that time, your dog will be administered his grooming, as well as occasional water, and lots of pats and gentle conversation..
